Your First Visit

Dr. Recktenwald

Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough exam, x-rays and photographs. You will spend time with our team to address all of your concerns.

The purpose of the first visit is to gather all the proper diagnostic information. Just as if you were having a medical consult, tests and a consultation are done and future appointments are made after the doctor has reviewed everything. We want to help you keep your teeth a lifetime, not just patch up problems just for them to recur!

Please complete the patient forms before arriving if possible and If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card. This will save your time and allow us to access your insurance coverage faster.

A thorough medical history and a list of medications you are presently taking, and any medication allergies will be necessary. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to dentistry (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anti-depressants, blood-thinners, etc.)

A written treatment plan, sequence of treatment and fees will also be presented. Your next appointment will be made on that day.

"Did you know that our favorite appointment is a new patient exam?

The reason why is that we love spending the time to get to know our patients. We feel it is a privilege to have you in our office. And with that privilege comes an obligation by us to treat you as we would ourselves. We pride ourselves in taking time to conduct a THOROUGH exam and spending an equal amount of time explaining a diagnosis and treatment plan.

We firmly believe that educating you about your dental health will ultimately help you to keep your teeth for a lifetime. We will leave no stone unturned, and will come up with a plan of action to comprehensively treat your condition. We will not "patch up" your teeth and wait for an "eventual disaster."
